Hillary Clinton Promotes Plan to Expand LIHTC

In a recent op-ed published by the New York Times, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton discussed her plans for combatting family poverty. With 11.4 million households spending more than half their monthly income on rent, Clinton plans to expand the Low Income Housing Tax Credit to increase the supply of affordable housing and fuel broader community development.

“My plan would expand Low Income Housing Tax Credits in high-cost areas to increase our affordable housing supply, and fuel broader community development. So if you are a family living in an expensive city, you would be able to find an affordable place to call home and have access to the transportation you need to get to good jobs and quality schools,” stated Clinton.
